The car is a front wheel drive (FWD) vehicle that was built by the Chrysler Corporation. It was first introduced in North America in 1995 as a two-door (2DR) coupe that was produced from the year 2000. The car was reintroduced in 2007 as a sedan to replace the Dodge Stratus, whose coupe version had replaced the original Avenger in 2001. For the 2014 year, the Avenger ranked within 22 of the best affordable midsize cars rated by US News and World Report which measures reliability and safety data. 2014 is also the last year the Dodge Avenger was in production. It was replaced by the Dodge Stratus coupe for 2001.
