The five door hatchback is marketed in Canada and the United States by Japanese manufacturer Toyota under their Scion brand. It first debuted for the 2008 model year and replaced the xA. The subcompact car was first introduced to the public at the Chicago Auto Show in February of 2007 and it then appeared in Scion showrooms a few months later in the United States. It debuted in Canada in 2011. The Scion xD was discontinued in 2014, and was succeeded by the Toyota C-HR in 2017.
