Classified as a four-door crossover sport utility vehicle (SUV), the Buick Rendezvous comes complete with a 4-speed automatic transmission and 3.5 L V6 engine. The SUV can get up to 19 MPG (miles per gallon) in the city and up to 26 MPG on the highway. It has a curb weight of 4,096 pounds and a tire size of P225/60R17. The Rendezvous is available in three different configurations. These configurations include MPG, CX, and CXL. The SUV was first introduced in the spring of 2001 as a 2002 model year vehicle. The Rendezvous was General Motor's entry into the cross over SUV segment. As a four-door crossover with a front engine and four-wheel drive, the Rendezvous features a four-speed automatic transmission with a V6 engine. The last Rendezvous rolled off the assembly line on July 5, 2007. The SUV used the same platform as GM's short version minivan, Pontiac Montana and Chevrolet Venture. The Rendezvous provided a passenger and load carrying capacity not seen in the Buick lineup since the discontinuation of the Buick Roadmaster Station Wagon in 1996. It was Buick's first truck in its lineup since 1923, and the Rendezvous was billed as a combination of the best attributes of a minivan (large cargo capacity, seating for up to seven), a luxury automobile (ride, handling, smoothness) and a sport utility vehicle (truck styling and available all wheel drive).
