It comes with a 1.4 L 4-cylinder engine and is available in four different configurations, including Classica, Abarth Manual, Lusso, and Abarth Automatic. The creation of the 124 Spider was based on the Mazda's MX-5, and comes standard with a 1.4-litre MultiAir Turbo four-cylinder, pumping out 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque on the Classica and Lusso trims, 164 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque on the Abarth. The convertible sports car was marketed by Fiat for model years 1966-1985 and designed by and manufactured at the Italian carrozzeria Pininfarina factory. The sports car first debuted in November of 1966 at the Turin Auto Show, its styling done by Tom Tjaarda. Later, the car was marketed as the Spider 2000 from 1979 to 1982. After the car was retired by Fiat, ininfarina continued the production of the model under his own brand as Pininfarina Spider Azzura for the North American market and Pininfarina Spidereuropa for the European market for three more years, from 1983 until 1985.
