Classified as a luxury compact crossover sport utility vehicle (SUV), the Infiniti FX35 can get up to 16 MPG (miles per gallon) in the city and up to 23 MPG on the highway. It has 303 hp (horsepower) and a curb weight of 4,094 to 4,299 pounds. It has a towing capacity of 2,000 pounds and comes standard with a 3.5 L V6 engine. The Infiniti FX35 is available in two different configurations, including the Base and the Limited Edition. The SUV is manufactured by Nissan and comes in two drivetrains, AWD (all wheel drive) and RWD (rear wheel drive), and comes equipped with a V6 engine. The FX35 replaced the QX4 as Infiniti's mid-size SUV and it shares the same FM platform as the rear-wheel drive Nissan 370z , and it "made no claims of climbing mountains." It offers an aggressive shape but has style and quick handling. It is similar in size to the Nissan Murano and is based on the same D platform as the front-wheel drive Nissan Altima. The FX does not have Nissan-branded equivalent, and is not sold in Japan. The FX introduced its second generation for the 2009 model year as the FX35 and FX50.
