Produced by the British manufacturer Land Rover, The LR2 name is used in North America with the Freelander name used more in Europe. The SUV features a unibody structure in common with almost all other crossovers in its class, but unlike traditional SUVs that were built with body on frame designs. Although the Freelander is one of the smallest vehicles in the Land Rover lineup, it still offers a good amount of off road capability and solid road manners. The five passenger SUV comes in both two wheel drive and four wheel drive (4WD) and was available for two generations, from 1997 to 2015. The second generation was sold from 2007–2015 in North America and The Middle East as the LR2 and in Europe as the Freelander.
