The car is also known as the M157 and it has been in production by Italian automobile manufacturer Maserati since 2013. The Ghibli first made its debut to the public at the Shanghai Motor Show in 2013. The mid size car was Maserati's comeback into this size car segment as it had gone two decades without one. Assembly of the Ghibli takes place alongside that of the Quattroporte VI at the new Giovanni Agnelli Plant in Grugliasco near Turin, Italy. On September 24, 2019, the 100,000th Ghibli rolled off the production line as announced by Maserati.
